Zenless Zone Zero revealed another character arriving in the upcoming version 2.2 update: Orphie & Magus. The duo are members of the Obol Squad faction under the New Eridu Defense Force . Check out their reveal below:

What We Know So Far

Orphie & Magus form a single Fireelement Attack-specialty unit. Similarly to Seed, they were first mentioned in early game patches through Soldier 11's story. They made their first physical appearance in version 2.0 of the game, having a chance of showing up in Encounter domains within the roguelike gamemode, Hollow Zero.

The two have also made appearances in version 2.1's story, assisting the proxy alongside the rest of Obol Squad in freeing Ukinami Yuzuha from the clutches of a high-ranked member TOPS. They also appear in the version 2.1 epilogue, setting the stage for the two of them to be key figures in the next version of ZZZ.

The pair is an interesting mix of the fresh-faced and timid soldier Orphie, and the time-hardened veteran, Captain Magus. The two are seemingly, and quite literally, joined at the hip. Magus seems to be some sort of construct with a consciousness of her own attached to Orphie's tail. It's unknown whether Magus has always been attached to Orphie, or if there was an event that led the two of them to become joined physically.

Speculating Orphie & Magus' Rank & Role

Given that their character art in their drip marketing is animated, Orphie & Magus are likely to be an S-Rankunit, as all previously released characters whose drip marketing was animated have been S-Ranks.

Orphie & Magus are a Fire Attackagent from Obol Squad, making them the third Attackunit of the faction, alongside Soldier 0 - Anby and the newly-revealed Seed.

Given that members of any faction tend to work well together, it's likely that Orphie & Magus will have synergy with Aftershock attacks. Also, because Soldier 0 – Anby needs plenty of on-field time, we speculate that Orphie & Magus may be an off-field Attack agent who passively performs Aftershock attacks. However, given that there are three attack units in Obol Squad, perhaps either Orphie & Magus or Seed are an alternative to Soldier 0 - Anby, and one of them is an on-field unit, while the other specializes in off-field Aftershocks.
