The uber-chic Hotel Cala di Volpe— Sardinia's five-star retreat overlooking the Costa Smeralda (the Emerald Coast)—is already renowned as a feast for the eye. The Atrium Bar in particular is one of the property's most iconic and dramatic gathering spaces, best used for a coffee, aperitivo, or cocktails among friends.
In late May, it got even better: Luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana elevated the hotel with a summer takeover of vibrant yellow prints meant to evoke the sun-drenched landscapes of Southern Italy . Here, an inside look at the collaboration.
What To Expect at Hotel Cala di Volpe
This is the third time Hotel Cala di Volpe has collaborated with Dolce & Gabbana. This variation of the print, inspired by traditional hand-painted Italian tiles, is a brand classic and has been produced in assorted colors for more than a decade. The fresh colorway, called Maiolica Gialla, features luminous, lemony yellows, and rich golden browns set on a crisp white ground that all seem perfectly in harmony with the natural beauty of the surroundings. The eye-catching motif boasts geometric block patterns, symmetrical scrolls, and florals that sweep through the bar and two terraces on cushy chair cushions and banquette covers. It extends to cabanas, as well.
In celebration of the launch, Dolce & Gabbana has opened a pop-up within the hotel. The immersive shop offers women's and men's resort wear, designer bags, scarves, and jewelry. Guests can also purchase pieces from Dolce & Gabbana's exclusive line, all featuring the season's Maiolica print. The collaboration will continue through October, 2026.

As brands in the fashion and hospitality spaces continue to collaborate, this pairing between Dolce & Gabbana and Cala di Volpe, part of The Luxury Collection from Marriott, is a terrific fit. Both the brand and the property are steeped in the notion of celebrating the most glamorous aspects of the Italian lifestyle.
The hotel was conceived and designed by Jacques Couelle in 1963 to look like a centuries-old Mediterranean fishing village and features organic materials that blend perfectly with the surrounding cliffs and sea. Suites feature hand-painted furniture, and private terraces with breathtaking views of the emerald coastline. Recently refurbished, it is equal parts rustic and refined, and recognized worldwide as an upscale oasis for royals, jetsetters, and the most discerning travelers.
Likewise, Dolce and Gabbana, founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, is well-known for its luxe Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic, dazzling designs, celebrity clientele, and devotion to Italian craftsmanship and rich cultural history.
