As with the other shows in the 911 -verse, 911: Nashville hails from 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Television. Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers; Brad Falchuk and 911 star Angela Bassett are also EPs. Casting and other details will be announced later.

Ideas for a third series in the franchise have been percolating for some time, with Las Vegas floated as a potential setting. Murphy said last fall that he and Minear were working on a script for a third show, with Nashville ending up as the preferred location.

The 911 flagship moved from Fox to ABC with season seven in 2023-24 and is set to resume its eighth season in March. The Austin-set 911: Lone Star concluded its five-season run on Fox on Feb. 3.

With the addition of 911: Nashville , Murphy could potentially have three series on ABC in 2025-26. The network has yet to make decisions on the future of 911 (though a renewal seems likely) and first-year drama Doctor Odyssey .
