Coca-Cola has given fans a lot to celebrate recently, and the excitement doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

The iconic soft drink company recently returned its previously discontinued Diet Cherry Coke and is rumored to be bringing back its once-popular Diet Coke Lime , not to mention the several new flavors it brought to its Coke Freestyle Machines at Orlando's Epic Universe theme park , as well as at Wendy's and AMC locations nationwide. This latest announcement, though, is out-of-this-world in comparison to all the others.

Honoring Coca-Cola and Disney's 70-year-long partnership, which they established before the theme park's opening day in July 1955, the two companies come together to work their magic on a new release that's like nothing else (except for maybe Coke's Marvel collab ).

While the soft drink brands' recently-revived Diet Cherry Coke is getting a "retro" makeover, its original Coca-Cola and its Zero Sugar variety are joining forces with Star Wars, releasing new and exclusive packaging designs that feature not only the iconic characters from the legendary franchise, but some pretty famous scenes as well.

Heading out soon are over two dozen limited-edition cans and bottles inspired by some of the series' most recognizable faces and scenes. The collectible Coke products will be available to purchase in select markets around the world, but a few will be exclusive to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., and Tokyo Disney Resort.

"For generations, Coca-Cola and Disney have shared a commitment to creating moments of joy and human connection," said  Islam ElDessouky, global vice president, creative strategy & content at Coca-Cola. "This collaboration is about more than just bringing together two iconic brands – it's about celebrating the power of Star Wars fandom, shared passions, and the strength of community when we lift each other up."

"I'm happy to say that there were very emotional conversations about characters, I put it this way, but it happened in a very civilized manner because we wanted to represent a lot of generations of fans," ElDessouky told Parade during a special launch event in Disneyland on June 25.

The exec said the goal was to make sure the decades-arching series was "[represented] well," adding that "it's OK if fans feel that there is a character or two not represented, it gives us good conversation also to have on top of that."

"We managed to get a good representation, I think," ElDessouky said of the 30-some collectible designs, joking, "And I managed to get Darth Vader."

Along with the limited-edition designs come innovative augmented reality experiences that let fans share "uplifting messages of community and connection" in the style of their favorite Star Wars character.

"A cornerstone of Disney's collaboration with Coca-Cola continues to be creating campaigns in honor of fans," said Mindy Hamilton, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Partnerships at The Walt Disney Company. "Star Wars is a powerful cultural force around the world, with millions of fans across generations who carry these stories off the screen and into their lives. This custom campaign is for them and inspired by them."

Fans looking to collect all of the  Star Wars  bottles and cans can find them in select markets across North America, Latin America, Europe, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region beginning in July. The collectible bottles won't be sticking around for long, so grab them while you can!
