Halle Berry Makes a Sheer Statement in LaQuan Smith Dress on the Met Gala 2025 Red Carpet

Halle Berry was among the Met Gala 2025 guests who embraced see-through fabrics for their red carpet entrances on Monday's event. The actress wore a custom look by LaQuan Smith , featuring a sparkling black sequined dress with sheer panel details creating a striped pattern.

For added drama, Berry donned a cropped black satin jacket with structured shoulders and lapels. She accessorized with diamond earrings and a pillbox hat that featured a black mesh veil covering her face.

Berry has worn many looks from LaQuan Smith before. The designer also dressed Jordan Roth, Ciara and Babyface for the 2025 Met Gala .

This year, Smith partnered with Samsung to launch the first-ever Galaxy AI Atelier, an AI-powered creative studio that brought his 2025 Met Gala looks to life using the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to the company, Smith has leveraged the Galaxy S25 Ultra as his all-in-one creative companion. During the Met Gala, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will capture the designer and his muses' red carpet arrivals.

Smith and Samsung will also host an exclusive Met Gala House Party after the event. The party will feature "interactive experiences and live content creation stations, offering a hands-on look at how Galaxy AI is reshaping the boundaries of style, self-expression and creative technology," according to Samsung.

The 2025 Met Gala, held Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, features the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." The event highlights Black dandyism and menswear, with a "Tailored for You" dress code. Cochairs include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour.
