If you look back at all of the infamous characters that have crossed our TV screens thanks to Nickelodeon, it's pretty impressive. The kids' TV network has given us Rugrats , Doug , The Fairly OddParents and so many more. Just thinking about them gives us all the nostalgia .
In fact, there's one cartoon in particular that crosses all generations, proving to be funny time and time again, even in re-runs. And, yes, that's SpongeBob SquarePants and his chaotic Bikini Bottom crew.
Now, 26 years after it first premiered on Nick in 1999, SpongeBob is getting his very own Forever stamp courtesy of the U.S. Postal Service. (Hey, that's almost as long as it took Happy Gilmore to get its own Subway meal ).
There are four different SpongeBob stamps in the collection. Two are simply of SpongeBob's unforgettable face, while another includes all of your favorite characters from the show: Sandy Cheeks, Patrick Star, Plankton, Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob, Gary and Squidward Tentacles. Last, but certainly not least, the fourth stamp features besties SpongeBob and Patrick.

The stamps will start being issued on Aug. 1 and kick off with a free event in New York's Time Square from 8 am - 10 am. USPS art director Greg Breeding designed the stamps thanks to provided artwork from Nickelodeon, and will be on hand at the celebration to sign autographs.

You've gotta love Forever stamps as a way to dodge the increasing prices of postage if you stocked up on some, say, years ago. Forever stamps will always be equal in value to the current First Class Mail one-ounce rate, regardless of when and how much you purchased them for.
