Rapper pulls out of several festivals without explanation
Doechii has pulled out of a host of upcoming festivals this week without a clear explanation.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper has canceled her appearances at Rock en Seine in Paris on Thursday, All Points East in London on Saturday and Forwards Bristol festival in Bristol, England on Sunday.
"We regret to announce that Doechii will not be able to perform at Rock en Seine this Thursday, August 21st," Rock en Seine wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday. "She is an incredible artist, and like all her fans, we were very excited to see her in Paris. Following the lineup changes for Thursday, August 21st, those who purchased tickets for this date will be contacted by email as soon as possible."
All Points East and Forwards Bristol festival also shared the news of Doechii's cancelation on Instagram.
Forwards Bristol wrote , "We are so proud of this year's Sunday lineup, with three amazing female headliners in Jorja Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Olivia Dean gracing our stage, as well as a plethora of other amazing musical talent across the day."
Meanwhile All Points East reassured fans that the festival still "has an amazing line-up including RAYE, Tyla, JADE, Jyoty, Nao and many more."
Doechii's absence had many fans asking organizers for refunds and naming other artists who could take her place. Doja Cat, PinkPantheress, Little Simz, Chappell Roan and Beyoncé were some of the suggestions that came up.
The move comes ahead of the rapper's "Live from the Swamp Tour," which is scheduled to kick off on Oct. 14 in in Chicago, Illinois. The tour will include a stop at MGM Music Hall in Boston on Oct. 19.
