  • The season three finale of Yellowjackets garnered 3 million cross-platform viewers worldwide in its first seven days, marking the most-watched season finale in the show’s history.

Showtime's Yellowjackets wrapped its third season with a finale full of revelations — and a good-sized audience.

The season three closer, which debuted April 11 on Paramount+ With Showtime (and two days later on the Showtime cable channel), gathered 3 million cross-platform viewers worldwide in its first seven days, Paramount says. That's the most for a season finale in the show's history and a 19 percent improvement on the season two finale in May 2023.

Most of those 3 million viewers came via streaming, and Paramount says that on streaming alone, the season three finale grew by 54 percent vs. season two's closer (which, it's worth noting, came before Showtime's direct-to-consumer service was fully integrated into Paramount+)

Season three as a whole was also the most-watched so far for Yellowjackets , edging up 3 percent compared to season two. The show's 10 million social engagements over the course of the season marked a huge gain over the previous run, growing by 186 percent.

" Yellowjackets  is a fiercely original, genre-bending phenomenon — an electrifying blend of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama from the brilliant minds of Ashley and Bart and brought to life by our stellar cast," said Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. "Season three drove record numbers and was key to maintaining Paramount+'s ranking as a top three SVOD for original series minutes, proving the power of our differentiated strategy with fewer, bigger, breakthrough series."

Showtime has yet to make a renewal decision about Yellowjackets. Co-creator and co-showrunner Ashley Lyle told The Hollywood Reporter after the finale that "We feel that there is more story to tell and we're really excited to dive into it."

Lionsgate Television produces Yellowjackets . Lyle and Bart Nickerson created the series and serve as showrunners with Jonathan Lisco. The three executive produce with Drew Comins of Creative Engine, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa and Brad Van Arragon.
