Kylie Kelce shares her long-standing beef with Dwyane Wade: "He didn't say a goddamn word, which is crazy"
- Kylie Kelce recalls a wedding day encounter with Dwyane Wade where he did not acknowledge her or her bridesmaids in the elevator.
NBA legend Dwyane Wade apparently has a long-standing "beef" with Kylie Kelce that he does not know about. It stemmed during the wedding day of the podcaster and media personality to former NFL player Jason Kelce in 2018.
She spoke about it on the latest episode of her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast, sharing how she ran into the three-time NBA champion in a hotel elevator, along with her bridesmaids and wedding coordinator and yet Wade did not say anything while they were on their way down.
Not that Kylie was expecting to have a long conversation with D-Wade, but what she playfully took exception to was he did not show any interest or curiousity at all on what was going on with the situation.
"I have a long-standing beef with Dwyane Wade, that — you guessed it — Dwyane Wade actually knows nothing about. We were going down for the wedding. Right? I am in a wedding dress with a veil on the back of my head. We have all four bridesmaids and the wedding planner, Sarah, in the elevator with us. And we just so happen to get on the elevator with Dwyane Wade," Kylie recalled .
"Here's the problem that I have with that. He didn't say a goddamn word, which is crazy. There is a bride and her bridesmaids in the f—ing elevator with you. You are in an enclosed space. And then he didn't say a word. That s—t blew my mind," she added.
A strong relationship with Jason
Kylie and Jason met on Tinder in 2015 and got married in April 2018. They now have four daughters, namely, Wyatt Elizabeth, 6, Elliotte Ray, 4, Bennett Llewellyn, 2 and Finnley Anne, 10 months.
In over seven years of marriage, they have created a strong bond, built around a lot of support and mutual give and take, allowing them to also grow as individuals.
Jason retired from the NFL in 2024 after playing 13 years all with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he won a Super Bowl title in 2018. He signed a multi-year deal with ESPN to be part of its football shows, including "Monday Night Countdown." With brother Travis Kelce, he also hosts the "New Heights" podcast, which discusses not only football stuff but also life and culture.
Apart from raising their kids with Jason, Kylie, a former golf coach, is also busy with her podcast and doing sports content, currently with NBC for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Wade is also doing well with his marriage
Basketball Hall of Famer Wade, meanwhile, also has his marriage with actress Gabrielle Union doing well nearly 12 years into it.
They share five children together, including daughter Kaavia James, 6, and Wade's children from previous relationships, Zaya, 18, Zaire 22, and Xavier, 12. The Miami Heat legend is also the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon, 21.
Wade has been retired since 2019 and has dipped his hands in broadcasting, acting and business, including part-ownership of the Utah Jazz (NBA) and Chicago Sky (WNBA).
Kylie may have left disappointed with her brief encounter with Wade during her wedding day, but it has given her a great story to tell. Also, with her revelation, the next time she runs into Wade, they will surely have something to talk about.
