  • Demi Moore congratulated Mikey Madison on her unexpected Best Actress Oscar win for her role in Sean Baker’s Anora, expressing gratitude for her awards season journey on social media.

Ever the graceful leading lady, Demi Moore took to social media today to wrap up the closing of awards season — and wish a sweet note of congratulations to Best Actress Oscar winner Mikey Madison, whose turn in Sean Baker’s Anora led to an unexpected win last night.

“As this awards season comes to a close, I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey,” Moore wrote on Instagram , sharing a video of her behind-the-scenes glam routine ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night, set to Cheryl Lynn’s “Got to be Real.”

“It’s been the ride of a lifetime and we’re just getting started! So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light. Thank you to the cast, crew, and fans of  @trythesubstance  —  @isimostar  and  @coralie_fargeat  it’s been such an honor to work alongside you, learn from you, and celebrate this film with you,” The Substance star added.

She concluded in her caption, “And a huge congratulations to  #MikeyMadison  — can’t wait to see what you do next ♥️”

The video additionally showcased Moore’s post-show prep for the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, which included a mouth-watering french fries feast and also featured her beloved micro Chihuahua named Pilaf. Her daughters were part of the festivities: Tallulah Willis sharing a photo of her mother with the caption “MY winner 🍟” and Scout LaRue Willis writing alongside a picture of Moore and her two sisters : “I’ve never been more proud to be a part of this family.”

She added on her Instagram Story, “So beyond proud, this woman is nothing but integrity, bright beaming light and love! What Grace I’ve never been more proud to be her daughter.”

At the 97th Academy Awards, held yesterday at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre and hosted by Conan O’Brien, Madison — who won top acting honors at the BAFTA  and the  Spirit Awards — beat out Fernanda Torres ( I’m Still Here ), Cynthia Erivo ( Wicked ) and Karla Sofía Gascón ( Emilia P é rez ), as well as Moore — who secured Golden Globe, Critics Choice and SAG Awards this season for The Substance .
