In addition to star Billy Bob Thornton — who plays an operations executive for a Texas oil company — Demi Moore is set to return following her Oscar nominated turn in The Substance .
Moore played Cami, the wife of an oil boss (Jon Hamm) , in the debut season, which drew some criticism for not giving the actress more to do. In the new season, Moore is second billed behind Thornton, and co-creator Christian Wallace has teased the character will have a larger role in the new episodes. "There is a lot more story left to tell with Cami," Wallace told Variety . "Taylor has big plans, that's all I'm going to say."
The second season also stars Oscar nominee Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph , Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore.
There's no premiere date yet set, but given the production timing, a return of Landman before the end of the season is quite possible.
Landman ranked as a Top 10 SVOD original series in the fourth quarter of last year alongside two other Paramount+ Sheridan dramas, Tulsa King and Lioness . The show ranked as the most watched global premiere and finale of any series in Paramount+ history and earned Thornton a Golden Globe nomination.
Landman is "set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it's reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics."
