A groundbreaking project is on the horizon for music and film fans: The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event , conceived and directed by Oscar-winner Sam Mendes. The four biopics, each focusing on one member of the Fab Four, will be released in theaters in April 2028, creating what has been dubbed the "first bingeable theatrical experience."
Paul Mescal will portray Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Joseph Quinn will take on the role of George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan rounds out the quartet as Ringo Starr.

The project is significant not only for its unique multi-film structure but also because it marks the first time that The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have authorized the use of the band members' full life stories and music in scripted films. This approval comes directly from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, granting a level of access previously unheard of for a dramatic retelling of their story.
The actresses cast as the significant love interests in the Beatles biopics are Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey (Ringo Starr's first wife), Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney (Paul McCartney's first wife), Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono (John Lennon's wife), Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd (George Harrison's first wife), Lucy Boynton as Jane Asher (Paul McCartney's girlfriend in the 60's) and Morfydd Clark as Cynthia Lennon (John Lennons first wife). Harry Lloyd will portray producer Sir George Martin, often called the 'Fifth Beatle' for his pivotal role in shaping the band's studio sound.
Additional casting includes David Morrissey joining as Paul McCartney's father Jim McCartney, Leanne Best as John Lennon's Aunt Mimi, James Norton as influential manager Brian Epstein, Harry Lloyd as long-time music producer George Martin, Bobby Schofield as road manager and trusted confidant Neil Aspinall, Daniel Hoffman-Gill as roadie Mal Evans, Arthur Darvill as press officer and friend Derek Taylor, Adam Pally as controversial music manager Allen Klein, Farhan Akhtar as Ravi Shankar, and Harry Lawtey as Stuart Sutcliffe, the original bass guitarist of the Beatles
The ambitious undertaking is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes' Neal Street Productions. Mendes will produce alongside Pippa Harris, Julie Pastor of Neal Street, and Alexandra Derbyshire. The scripts are being penned by a trio of acclaimed writers: Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne, though it remains unclear which of the four films each writer is tackling. The overlapping narratives, each from a distinct perspective, promise a rich, multi-faceted look at the band's journey from Liverpool to global domination and eventual breakup.
Casting of other central characters, including Cynthia Lennon and Ravi Shankar, will be announced in due course.
