Four actors will join the comedy this year; Leighton Meester will play Abby, Joanne’s (Kristen Bell) middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer; Miles Fowler will play Lenny, Noah’s (Adam Brody) Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan (Lupe); Alex Karpovsky joins as Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple; and Arian Moayed arrives as Dr. Andy, a charming, highly regarded (particularly by himself) psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan.

Season 1 of the series, which follows the unlikely romance between an agnostic podcaster and a rabbi, spent six weeks in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV List and reached the Top 10 in 89 countries. The series was also viewed 57M times from its September 26 release through the end of 2024.

Executive producers on the comedy are Foster, Bell, Steven Levitan, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Bruce Eric Kaplan, Jenni Konner and Nora Silver. Oly Obst is executive producer for 3arts. Kaplan and Konner serve as showrunners. The series is produced by 20th Television in association with Steven Levitan Productions.
