'All My Children' Alum Susan Lucci, 78, Shares 'Flashback' Photos with 'Beloved' Cast Mates

Susan Lucci is celebrating "Flashback Friday" with a look back on her All My Children days.
In a new Instagram post shared on Friday, Aug. 22, the 78-year-old soap icon delighted All My Children fans with a throwback photo featuring some of her "fabulous" cast mates on the hit ABC soap.
In the resurfaced photo, Lucci—who played Erica Kane for over 40 years on the popular soap opera—could be seen posed for a sweet smiling pic alongside fellow All My Children stars Michael Knight, Rebecca Budig and Eden Riegel .
Knight, 66, who is known for his long-running role as Tad Martin, was smiling in the photo with Lucci on one side of him and Budig on the other. Knight appeared to have his arm around Budig, 52, who played Greenlee Smythe Lavery on All My Children , while Riegel, 44, who starred as Bianca Montgomery, was standing on the end.
"Flashback Friday to All My Children fabulous, beloved cast mates! Michael Knight, Rebecca Budig and Eden Riegel❤️❤️❤️❤️," Lucci captioned the post.
"This is the best!!!" another one of their former co-stars, Cameron Mathison , gushed under the post.
Fans Are Nostalgic for All My Children
After seeing Lucci's post on Friday, tons of fans were feeling sentimental about the beloved soap opera, which was canceled in 2011.
"Oh those were the best days!!!!!" one of her followers gushed in the comments, while imploring the actress, "Come back, Susan!!!!!👏"
"Dear God, I miss this show and the cast so much! All the memories that come just from this pic. Susan, you are eternally fabulous!" someone else chimed in.
"I miss AMC sooo much!" added another commenter, who insisted, "They need a reboot!!! 🙏🏼♥️"
Why All My Children Was Cancelled
After four decades on the air, All My Children was cancelled in 2011 and set to be replaced by a show with lower production costs. The Chew took its place for seven years before it was ultimately cancelled in 2018.
Speaking about the cancellation of All My Children , Lucci told Yahoo! Entertainment in 2019 that "there was a lot of anger" after the cast learned the iconic daytime program would be coming to an end after so many years on air.
"It was really a period of mourning because we went through all of those stages—the anger, the denial, the sadness, the missing of each other," Lucci added at the time, while noting that it was dedicated fans of the show who helped her get through that time of her life.
"There's a little bit of Erica in all of us. It's a matter of proportion and the day," she said.
