This 'hidden gem for frozen sweets' has best shaved ice in Mass., Yelp says
There is still some time this summer to indulge in a bowl of shaved ice from your favorite shop.
If you're in the Boston area, then you can visit Yelp's top pick for the frozen treat in all of Massachusetts.
Oasit's Sweet Dessert Studio in Brookline was named the best place for shaved ice in Massachusetts by Yelp Elites .
"Oasit's Sweet is a cozy dessert shop offering a variety of Asian-inspired treats, including bingsu and other shaved ice desserts," Yelp wrote of the eatery. "Known for its clean, modern space and rotating seasonal flavors, this spot is a hidden gem for frozen sweets. Yelpers love the light texture of the ice and the thoughtful presentation."
The list was created by Yelp identifying businesses in the "shaved ice" category and ranking them using a variety of factors, including the volume and ratings of reviews.
"Such a great little dessert cafe," one Yelp review reads . "We ordered the mango snow and the Phuket Toast. Both were incredible!!!! The mango snow had this slightly salty cream on top, similar to a cheese foam you'd get on boba. It also had chunks of mochi at the bottom. The Phuket Toast was to die for. So soft but also sweet and crunchy from the sugar crust."
Another reviewer wrote, "Not many places offered shaved ice, and even though they had fewer selections, they focused on Thai flavors. We ordered the Thai tea shaved ice and pandan toast, which wasn't too sweet. The Thai tea shaved ice had a rich flavor as the tea infused into the ice."
Oasit's Sweet Dessert Studio is located at 1428 Beacon St., Brookline. The shop is open 2-10 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Friday as well as 1-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
