For travelers bouncing between ships, railcars and wilderness lodges, removing the guesswork around meals is a big deal. As one HAL executive put it, the goal is simple: make the land experience feel just as seamless as the cruise.
"Guests want an inclusive experience and the seamless convenience of cruising carried through their entire journey—this free meal plan delivers that all the way to Denali," said Dan Rough, vice president of revenue management.
"Because Holland America Line owns lodges, railcars and motorcoaches, and now includes meals, we can create a truly unified experience that takes the guesswork out of travel and lets guests simply savor the journey. From enjoying a hearty breakfast before a day of exploring Denali to relaxing over dinner after a scenic rail journey, every detail reinforces Holland America's commitment to delivering a premium, worry-free adventure."
The timing lines up with a $70 million transformation of the Holland America Denali Lodge, which will debut ahead of the 2027 season with new guest buildings, reimagined dining spaces, refreshed public areas and better signage for the trails that wind out toward Denali National Park.

The upgrades support longer stays—something travelers increasingly want—and help tie the on-land portions of the trip more closely to the premium experience onboard.
Across the 2027 Cruisetours, guests can choose from 19 itineraries that all include a three- to seven-day cruise plus a land journey into Denali, with some itineraries going even farther into the Yukon—a region Holland America remains the only major cruise line to offer.
Options range from classic 9- and 10-day Denali-focused routes to extended "Ultimate" Cruisetours that add time in Alyeska, Seward, or Homer and include a dedicated Tour Director to keep things running smoothly.
With early booking bonuses, expanded lodge offerings and more ways to explore Alaska's interior, Holland America is clearly betting big on its most iconic destination—and giving travelers plenty of reasons to book their 2027 trips early.
