These restaurant chains have launched promos just in time for 4/20
April 20, also known as 4/20 or Weed Day, has long been celebrated as an unofficial holiday by marijuana smokers across the country.
While theories vary regarding the celebration's origins, USA TODAY reports that it likely traces back to a group of teenagers hanging out after school in Marin County, California.
Regardless, the date annually brings tons of discounts on THC- and CBD-infused products. Several restaurant chains are also rolling out limited-edition menu items and promotions in honor of the occasion.
Blaze Pizza
On April 20, Blaze Pizza is offering a "BFF Bundle" for $25.99, according to USA TODAY . The online-only deal features two 11-inch pizzas, two fountain drinks, and two desserts. It is available online through the Blaze Pizza app or at blazepizza.com.
BOGO at Chipotle
While this next promotion celebrates a different occasion, Chipotle will be running a buy-one-get-one entrée deal on 4/20 as the Stanley Cup Playoffs get underway.
On Monday, April 20, after 3 p.m. local time, fans who wear a hockey jersey to participating Chipotle locations can receive a BOGO entrée.
Get baked with Insomnia Cookies and Hostess
In honor of 4/20, Insomnia Cookies has rolled out a new limited-edition lineup of "munchie cookies created for insomniacs who know the best memories (and snacks) happen after dark."
