  • A TikTok video shows a Tabby cat using his full body weight to wake his person up the moment they shift in bed, demanding breakfast.

Cats can be hard to understand, and sometimes the things they do can leave us feeling a little baffled. They have their own schedules that seem to be designed out of nowhere, and yet they expect everyone else to follow them. When breakfast is late, or they detect you moving a little sooner in the morning than you usually do, they clock it quickly and don’t hesitate to take action.

This video is hilarious proof of this playing out exactly like that. A Tabby cat is using his full body weight to wake his person the moment they shift in bed. It’s aggressive and effective, and it gets results. Take a look at this funny feline!

On January 20, TikTok user @winstonandspooky shared a video of a tuned-in cat who doesn't let anything get past him. Not even a parent who moves while sleeping, and it's nearing breakfast time.

The way this video is recorded, from the perspective of human eyes, just sort of shows a cute cat waking them up and demanding they get up now, since they were moving around a bit instead of being in deep sleep. The groggy eyes opening and closing with the camera are so funny and so accurate, which anyone who has a kitty in their family will definitely understand.

In the comments, hundreds of fellow cat parents and those who help their pets run their social media had hilarious reactions to this video.

One person wrote, "Mine opens the curtains bc he knows I can’t sleep with light in the room."

Another shared, "I just laughed so hard because mannnn this is true. My girl cat can hear my eyelids, I swear."

Someone else added, "Dang, you breathed a little too hard, and it’s suddenly breakfast time."

Other comments included: "Dreamed a little too loud," "How did u get this footage of my cat," "Go to the bathroom, forget about it. Game on," "If I even dream about waking up... game over," "I swear my cat can hear my eyelids open from three rooms away," "If I get up to go to the bathroom, it might as well be morning," "You go to the bathroom and they start running to their bowls like," "I imagine that's the first thing we'll see when we wake up in heaven," and "This be my orange man. Then he starts making biscuits on me."

How Much Sleep Does a Cat Need?

If you're not a morning person, the idea of having to wake up at 5 a.m. to feed your cat sounds horrendous. But it might be comforting to know that felines also spend a lot of their day sleeping, where they'll leave you alone by default.

According to the Sleep Foundation , cats need a lot of sleep during the day, between 12 and 18 hours for most, with nearly 40% of kitties sleeping more than that as they get older. The term "taking a catnap," meaning a short nap, does, in fact, come from cats, since the average length of time they sleep is just over an hour.

If this silly Tabby cat keeps up his demand to wake his parent up so early, he might get some playful retaliation during one of his many naps.
