There are certain ingredients I always have to have in my pantry , even if nine times out of 10 they end up going unused. Case in point: evaporated milk. There are plenty of uses for the stuff, from the obvious tres leches cake to the lesser obvious like macaroni and cheese . But for some reason that can of evaporated milk I insist on keeping close almost always expires before I think to use it. That's a me problem.
However the Carnation brand wants to remind everyone of evaporated milk's usefulness by bringing back a limited-edition flavor that fans demanded access to once again. Friends, the Carnation Kickin' Jalapeño Flavored Evaporated Milk is back.
Last year Carnation introduced the jalapeño flavored evaporated milk for a short period of time following a collaboration with chef Tini Younger, who uses it in her savory dishes. But fans loved it so much that they basically begged the brand to bring it back, and now here we are.
"Spicy foods are having a serious moment, and the love for Carnation Kickin' Jalapeño Flavored Evaporated Milk has been unreal," Younger says. "Last year, demand was through the roof—people were trying to get their hands on every last can. That's why it's so exciting to team up with Carnation again to bring back this fiery favorite—and this time, even more people can get in on the heat. I can't wait to see the bold, mouthwatering recipes everyone whips up!"

Indeed this stuff has a serious kick, but fortunately purchasing a can or two won't hurt your wallet. It has a suggested retail price of $1.84 (though the brand admits prices may vary) and is available on Walmart.com as of this month. Then it will hit shelves exclusively at Walmart stores starting in September, just in time to stock up ahead of the holidays if your family meals need a little heat during the fall and winter months.
