This Volunteer Uplifted a Shelter Dog, and It's So Heartwarming
Despite volunteers' best attempts, the life of a shelter dog can be tough. Between the constant bright lights and uninterrupted noise, having a moment to oneself is difficult to say the least. Besides the loud environment, new shelter dogs have to deal with the emotional rollercoaster of navigating a new living situation. Additionally, many pups enter shelters from extreme or difficult circumstances, which adds to their stress and sadness.
Thankfully, volunteers work tirelessly to ensure these pups are as comfortable as possible and can be adopted or fostered quickly. That is precisely the work that animal advocate Julie Saraceno does on her social media accounts. During one of her most recent shelter visits, Julie spent time with a new shelter dog, Poppy, who has been having a difficult time adjusting to her new environment. However, with some love and attention, Poppy is already starting to show off her personality, and the overall interaction is beyond words.

On her second day visiting Poppy, Julie Saraceno spent some one-on-one time with the adorable pup to help her adjust to shelter life . A week prior, Julie had captured Poppy, who was new to the shelter, and wasn't quite feeling herself just yet. However, this time around, it seems as if Poppy's new friend has helped her see a positive in her situation.

With a toy in hand, Julie sat down in Poppy's kennel, giving her all of the pets and cuddles that the dog could want. While she was initially scared, Poppy was clearly very happy to have a new friend to lie down with and play with. Although we are sure she appreciated having a new toy, Poppy was just happy to see a helpful human to comfort her.
In the comments, people sent plenty of well-wishes to Poppy, hoping she finds a forever home soon. "Geez... You have quite a strong will Julie!! I would have such a hard time leaving her there, she's just so precious!! I hope your amazing post helps get find a loving and caring home for her ASAP!!!" While we await Poppy to find her forever home and family, we will continue to cheer her on as she becomes more open and bubbly in the shelter.
