Dairy Queen’s Popular Dipped Cone Flavor Reportedly Returns Again This Summer

Dairy Queen 's summer menu just got a whole lot sweeter.

Earlier this month, the fan-favorite chain confirmed it would be reviving its Cherry Dipped Cone for a limited time this season—and that was after Parade learned that another highly anticipated shell flavor, which the brand had tested in May 2024 , would be heading to participating locations nationwide this spring.

Now, we've learned that DQ may have plans to bring back another beloved flavor of the hard and crunchy ice cream shell, and it makes perfect sense as to why the company would decide to reintroduce it now.

Food blogger SnackBetch was among the first to be tipped off about the expected menu update, revealing in an April 27 Instagram post that along with the return of its cherry-flavored shell and the wider release of the Oreo Crunchin Cookie collab , Dairy Queen would be offering the Confetti Cake Dipped Cone once again this year.

Given that DQ recently celebrated its 85th anniversary , the decision to revive the fan-favorite topping seems like an easy one to make.

"Oh these look soooooo good," one Instagram user exclaimed.

A second suggested they were very excited about the return of confetti cake, saying they "absolutely love" the flavors.

"i'VE never had dairy queen but the confetti cake dipped cone looks delish!" another declared.

Well, Dairy Queen has officially answered calls to clarify the rumored re-release and as it turns out–it is happening, just maybe not on a wider scale like the popular Blizzard flavors it's defrosting from the DQ Freezer this summer (including Confetti Cake, Cotton Candy and  S’mores Blizzard Treats ).

"Because our restaurants across the U.S. are independently owned and operated, the availability of dipped cone flavors may vary, and we encourage fans to check with their local DQ restaurant to see which flavors are offered," the company said in a statement shared with Parade . "Fans can keep an eye on the DQ® Mobile App, DQ social channels and website for the latest news on DQ flavor and product offerings."

DQ's 2025 summer menu additionally features a few new items, including the Mixing Bowl Mashup Blizzard Treat and the Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard Treat, all currently available at participating locations.
