Getting started on holiday shopping? Here's a guide to Shop Small Saturday in Sheboygan.

SHEBOYGAN – Shop Small Saturday returns to the city's downtown, riverfront and South Pier on Nov. 30, kicking off two weekends of local shopping and holiday celebrations.  

The day is nationally known as Small Business Saturday , but the Harbor Centre Business Improvement District organizes the local event, bringing local businesses to the forefront during the holiday shopping season.  

"Designed to showcase Sheboygan's local businesses and spread holiday cheer, these events will bring the community together with seasonal attractions, festive activities, and a touch of magic," the BID said in a news release.  

The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce also will host photos with Santa at 621 S. Eighth St. Photo opportunities will be available 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 30 and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 7.  

The BID will host a Holiday Open House with participating businesses from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. Shoppers will have another opportunity to shop locally while partaking in special offers and in-store activities.

What to know about swag bags on Shop Small Saturday

The first 400 shoppers will receive a swag bag with various goodies, like Chamber cash, samples from participating businesses and gifts from companies like 3 Sheeps Brewing, Johnsonville and Sargento.
