Mass. man pleads guilty to stabbing his girlfriend to death in their apartment
A Stoughton man pleaded guilty to stabbing his girlfriend to death at their apartment in 2019 in Norfolk County Superior Court on Monday, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office announced.
Ilton Rodrigues, 55, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 43-year-old Telma SaBras, as well as multiple counts of assault and battery and criminal threatening related to incidents involving his family members, the district attorney's office said in a Tuesday press release.
Rodrigues admitted to stabbing SaBras multiple times before turning the knife on himself in their Stoughton apartment on May 3, 2019, the district attorney's office said. A judge sentenced him to life in prison on the charges.
"This was a tragedy for the family," Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in the release. "We hope the disposition today will allow the children to heal from this traumatic episode."
