Rain now possible for Mass. on Wednesday, with thunderstorms possible later in the week
Massachusetts could see some rain on Wednesday, but the more likely chance for precipitation could be later in the week.
Pleasant conditions should carry on Wednesday as they were on Tuesday, with highs expected to be in the low to mid-70s, according to the National Weather Service. Southeastern Massachusetts could see highs reach the upper 70s.
By the afternoon, forecasters anticipate very few isolated to scattered showers. Dry air should keep any showers short-lived. Rain should disappear by sunset, with a calm and cool night expected ahead.
Rain is possible across two of the Bay State’s three major cities. Worcester and Boston should see possible rain showers after 11 a.m., while Springfield should be clear all day, forecasters said.
Conditions should stay warm and sunny on Thursday, with highs in the mid- to upper 70s, forecasters said. A cold front should then approach the region from the west and bring a growing number of clouds by Friday, with humidity rising and potentially high winds between 35 and 40 mph.
“This may be sufficient to support a few thunderstorms, but at this time we’re not seeing any strong potential for severe storms,” forecasters wrote.
Rain showers could come at different times across the major cities. Worcester and Springfield could see rain before 11 a.m., while rain could reach Boston after 2 p.m., forecasters said. Thunderstorms could materialize before 8 p.m. in all three cities.
Conditions should dry up by Saturday and last until Tuesday, with highs in the low to mid-70s and lows in the low to mid-50s, forecasters said.
