Starbucks, Chipotle and Jersey Mike’s to open in Palmer: Here’s when
After years of anticipation, folks in Palmer and surrounding neighborhoods will finally welcome the opening of a Starbucks , Chipotle and Jersey Mike's on Route 32 in just a few short months.
A spokesperson from Starbucks confirmed the locations slated to open in Liberty Plaza on Thorndike St. in Palmer will do so in "early winter," with a Chipotle spokesperson sharing the new Chipotle will open in December.
Neither company offered an exact date.
The new Chipotle, located at 1186 Thorndike St., Unit 4 will feature the brand's "signature Chipotlane" — a drive-thru pick-up lane that allows people to pick up mobile orders without leaving their cars, a spokesperson told MassLive .
However, as of right now "those are the only details," the company would share for the time being.
As for Starbucks, the company said it is "always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers," adding its 1188 Thorndike St. location will also feature a drive-thru and employ approximately 20 employees.
The new multi-tenant retail development — Liberty Plaza — is set to be complete with Palmer's first Starbucks, Chipotle and Jersey Mike's Subs, Gabe Schuchman, the managing director of ALRIG USA , the project's developer, previously told MassLive.
The plaza will be located at 1186 and 1190 Thorndike St., across Thorndike Street – also known as Route 32 in Palmer. The development is currently under construction with large "HIRING" signs plastered outside the project.
The new Starbucks location won't be a first for Western Massachusetts. But Palmer residents are stuck at the mercy of the closest Starbucks located in Ludlow .
Before the new Palmer Chipotle comes to town, the closest location is in Chicopee.
However, Jersey Mike's Palmer location will be the second to hit the western part of the state , as the first location opened in Longmeadow in early 2024, taking over the space of a former Subway.
