Suspect arrested in connection with sexual misconduct incidents near Boston-area playground
A suspect has been arrested in connection with sexual misconduct incidents involving both children and adults that happened near a Somerville playground, according to police.
The person who was taken into custody is "believed to be linked to multiple encounters where children and adults were approached in an inappropriate or concerning manner," Somerville police wrote in a Tuesday press release . The encounters happened in the Marshall Street area, including near the Marshall Street playground.
Somerville police did not name the suspect, but said that they are still investigating the incidents with the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office in order to "determine the full scope of the suspect's actions." There is no ongoing threat to the public, the department said.

The police department also recommends that families remind their children to never accept candy, gifts or rides from a stranger; never go into a stranger's home or car; walk with friends and on familiar routes when possible and immediately leave any situation in which they feel uncomfortable and tell a trusted adult.
"Police remind the community that vigilance is the best prevention," Somerville police wrote. "If you see suspicious behavior or anyone attempting to lure or approach children inappropriately, please call the Somerville Police Department immediately."
