A Boston man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that happened outside a Northeastern University dorm Wednesday morning, according to police.

Stephen Dantzler, 58, has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident, Boston police said in a press release Wednesday evening .

Officers responded to 291 Saint Botolph St. — the address for Northeastern's Hastings Hall dormitory — for a report of a stabbing just before 8:20 a.m. on April 1, police said. The victim was found at the scene and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined that an incident outside the dorm had led to the stabbing, police said. Detectives identified Dantzler as the suspect and used security video footage to locate and arrest him at 316 Huntington Ave. — the address of a Northeastern academic building called Robinson Hall.

The stabbing is the second violent incident to happen near the university in the last few days, WCVB reported . In a separate case, a Northeastern student was assaulted on the street close to the campus.

Dantzler is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
