Top beer company celebrates 50-year milestone with big giveaway

A beer company will be giving away free beers to customers to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Miller Lite will be giving away 50,000 beers at 450 participating bars across the country on International Beer Day on Friday, Aug. 1, according to the company .

Miller Lite – made by Milwaukee-based Miller Brewing Company – first began distributing around the United States in 1975, according to the company's website.

Customers 21 years old and above can visit Miller Lite's website to find a participating bar near them. The event will run from 4:50 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

Anyone looking to get involved that isn't near a participating bar or can't make it out during that time can check the company's website on Aug. 1 to find out how to get involved, starting at 3 p.m. Central Time.
