Snoop Dogg clocks in at Raising Cane’s to surprise customers
Earlier this week, Snoop Dogg was serving up more than just hip-hop.
Ahead of National Chicken Finger Day – July 27 – the rapper stopped by a Las Vegas location of the fast food chain to pass out combo boxes and copies of his new album, "Iz It A Crime?" The "shift" had Snoop working both behind the counter and at the drive-thru.
Snoop Dogg, who also appears in a new TV commercial about National Chicken Finger Day, is friends with Raising Cane's owner and founder Todd Graves. Graves launched the food-themed quasi-holiday in 2010, and trademarked it in 2019.
"Todd Graves is the man," Snopp Dogg said. "He's like family and always shows up for me. I like giving back and I like chicken fingers – I always order, like, seventeen of them – so I wanted to support him and his holiday."
"When it came time to make this the biggest National Chicken Finger Day yet, I knew Snoop would make this year unforgettable with his signature humor and energy," Graves added. "Snoop is an incredible artist, producer, family man, and entrepreneur who continues to inspire generations with his achievements across music, film, TV, and more. I'm proud to call him a friend and appreciate him coming out to surprise fans and customers ahead of National Chicken Finger Day on Sunday."
The collaboration brings attention to a limited-time Raising Cane's offer; this Sunday, the national fast food chain is adding an extra chicken finger to every "box combo" order. The standard box combo includes four chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, one sauce, Texas toast, coleslaw, and a fountain drink or tea.
Customers do not need a coupon or redemption code to participate in the deal, and the offer is applicable to orders placed in-restaurant, at the drive-through, or via the chain's mobile app. There's no limit on the offer, either; customers can order as many box combos as they please.
Of the hundreds of Raising Cane's locations in the United States, 10 are in Massachusetts: three in Boston, and single locations in Fall River, Framingham, Marlborough, Medford, Methuen, Saugus, and Seekonk.
