Weekend storm missed most of Mass., but some snow did pile up. Here’s how much
Most of Massachusetts was spared a direct hit from a storm that reached the state's coast overnight Sunday — the third straight weekend a coastal storm has impacted the Bay State.
While the most recent storm paled in comparison to the storm that dumped nearly two feet of snow on many parts of the state, some communities in two Massachusetts counties woke up to fresh powder on Sunday.
The storm's impacts were largely contained to areas along the immediate coast, both north and south of Boston. Gloucester and Pembroke led the way with 2.5 inches. Last weekend's storm dumped 27 inches of snow in Gloucester, the most of any community in Massachusetts.
The snowfall totals are based on reports provided to the National Weather Service by a network of weather observers and volunteers. They are updated as new reports are released. For locations not listed, the weather service may not have received a report from that area.
