Those in Worcester this Saturday will have a chance to catch up with a famous hot dog on wheels and relish its arrival at a food truck festival.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will make a special appearance at the 14th Worcester Food Truck and Craft Beverage Festival on Oct. 11.

The festival will take place at Worcester Common from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.. It will feature more than 20 food trucks, according to Anthony Pepe, owner of the festival’s parent company, Food Truck Festivals for America .

Patrons will be able to take pictures in front of the famous frankfurter and will be given stickers, postcards and Oscar Mayer’s popular plastic Wiener Whistles.

The Wienermobile, however, won’t be handing out any hot dogs to hungry customers, according to a press release for the festival.

Instead, those looking for a bite to eat should try out one of the many food trucks expected to attend the event.

Some of the food trucks that will be at the event include Egg Roll Evolution , Trolley Dogs, Cousins Maine Lobster , Say Cheese , Whoopie Wagon and Uncle Joey’s Cannolis, Pepe told MassLive. Craft beverages will also be an important aspect of the festival, as canned cocktails have become increasingly popular in recent years, said Pepe.

“Pack up the car, bring kids, bring friends,” Pepe said. “This isn’t fast food, its food made to order, so be prepared to wait in line.”

On average, the festival in Worcester attracts around 2,000 people a year, according to Pepe. This is the second time the event has come to Worcester this year, as the 13th festival was held in June.

Pepe said that he wants to see how the second festival goes before deciding whether to make the two-festival format a yearly occurrence.

“We’re going to see how Saturday goes,” Pepe said. “But we would love to (do it twice a year).”

In addition to food and drink, the event will feature lawn games, activities, and an artisan market, according to the press release.
