Dr. Eman El-labbad, Assistant Dean of Assessment and Evaluation College of Pharmacy and Director of the Centre of Interprofessional Education Research and Practice at Gulf Medical University participated in the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) virtual town hall meeting to discuss the draft 2023 IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. The IPEC Core Competencies serve as a framework for healthcare professionals and educators to work collaboratively and provide integrated person-centered care. The virtual town hall meeting featured several IPEC leaders, including members of the IPEC Core Competencies Revision Working Group, who provided information and insights into the revision process.
Dr. Eman El-Labbad remarked, “This meeting offers a distinctive opportunity for participants to engage in discussions with IPE leaders and provide feedback on the proposed draft of the IPEC 2023 core competencies before their final release in the upcoming fall. It is crucial for Gulf Medical University to ensure that its IPE curriculum is designed to provide up-to-date education in interprofessional collaboration.”
