Gulf Medical University’s Contribution to Interprofessional Global Partnership Symposium and Launch of Arab Network of Interprofessional Collaboration

Gulf Medical University (GMU) actively participated in the third Interprofessional Global Partnership Symposium, hosted by Qatar University’s (QU) Health from November 2-5 . The symposium brought together 40 representatives from 18 countries, associated with 11 global regional networks, with a primary focus on advancing interprofessional health education and collaborative practice.

Dr. Eman El-labbad, Director of the Centre of Interprofessional Education, Research, and Practice at GMU, represented the Arab Network for Interprofessional Collaboration, contributing to discussions aimed at exchanging knowledge and insights to enhance global interprofessional health education. The symposium addressed practical strategies to foster collaboration among various professions and regions. A notable outcome of the symposium was the establishment of the Arab Network for Interprofessional Collaboration.

Dr. Alla El-Awaisi, Director of Clinical Operations and Engagement at QU’s Vice President Office for Health and Medical Sciences, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “This event marks a milestone and sets the stage for the launch of the Arab Network for Interprofessional Collaboration, contributing to the global discourse on interprofessional education and practice.”
