Welcome your newest members

Groups that create a welcoming, small-community feel, even as the group grows, usually leave a good impression on new members.

Recognizing your newest members using the Welcome Post feature is a simple way to make a welcoming first impression and engage your members from the outset.

Welcome and tag up to 500 members on desktop and Android, and up to 300 members at a time on iOS to get the conversation started.

To create a Welcome Post:
  1. From your News Feed, click Groups in the left menu and select your group. If you don’t see Groups , click See More .
  2. Click Members below the cover photo.
  3. Click Write Welcome Post on the right.
  4. Customize the message and click Post .

You may also consider setting up a community chat to help onboard new members, creating a space for them to freely ask any questions they may have felt too intimidated to post on the feed.

The Welcome Post feature is available on desktop, Android and iOS to admins of non-public groups.
