Iran has announced the removal of visa requirements for citizens from 33 countries, aiming to bolster tourism and international engagement.
Among the nations are India , Saudi Arabia , the UAE , Bahrain , Qatar , Lebanon , Tunisia , and various Central Asian, African, and Muslim countries.
The move expands the list of visa-exempt countries to 45, with Croatia being the sole Western-allied European nation included in this change. The Ministry of Tourism sees this open-door policy as a way to demonstrate the nation’s commitment to global interaction.
The visa exemption for Russians in Iran applies specifically to group travel, limiting individual benefits.
Omani nationals already enjoyed visa-free travel to Iran. Iranian pilgrims will resume regular travel to Saudi Arabia after an eight-year hiatus, starting on December 19.
Additionally, various countries like Kenya , Thailand , and Sri Lanka have recently implemented visa-free travel for Indian tourists.
