Following the last time, I introduce summer Kyoto with the keyword "green".
This time is the bamboo forest in Arashiyama and Jojakko-ji Temple .
First, it is bamboo forest in Arashiyama.
Since here is a representative place of Arashiyama sightseeing, it is always crowded with many tourists,
but if you go before 8 am, there are still few people, It's recommend!
Next is Jojakko-ji Temple.
This is the famous place of autumn leaves representing Kyoto together with Eikan-do Temple in Higashiyama area, but the season of green maple is also a must-see.
The lively moss illuminated by sunlight through branches of trees is also beautiful.
I'd recommend a visit in the morning if possible.
Because these places and Giou-ji Temple (introduced previously) are all located along the east facing slope.
In particular, the bamboo forest in the early morning is very cool!

This is Kyoto colored in green... Tofuku-ji Temple

Following the last time, I introduce summer Kyoto with the keyword "green".
It is one station from Kyoto Station by JR Nara Line to go to Tofuku-ji Temple .
Tofuku-ji Temple which is famous for beautiful autumn leaves, is also a big temple that has the great cathedrals.
The main hall seen from the Kaisan-do is very spectacular decorated in a green valley.
There are beautiful moss gardens in Hojo and Kaisan-do, and beautiful green color will feast your eyes.
It is also a must-see the dry landscape Japanese garden designed by a genius landscape architect Mirei Shigemori.
It is surprising that there is such a green valley in the quiet residential area which is also near from Kyoto station.
If you are looking for somewhat cool place in Kyoto city centre in midsummer, I'd recommend this place.

Following the last time, I introduce summer Kyoto with the keyword "green".
This time, I introduce Jingo-ji Temple and Kosan-ji Temple in Takao area that is in the north part of Kyoto.
The first is Jingo-ji Temple.
This temple is famous for its vivid autumn leaves, but summer greenery is also a pretty deep place.
It is also surprising that there is a big temple in the mountains with such a formality.
Next is Kosan-ji Temple located about 20 minutes on foot from Jingo-ji Temple.
This temple has a very beautiful approach which is wrapped in green.
You can also enjoy Kawayuka (a summer terrace on the riverside) in the nearby Kiyotaki River.
It is a perfect place to avoid the intense heat of summer Kyoto.

The first is Eikan-do Temple.
This temple became famous worldwide for the beauty of the autumn leaves, but in reality the green season is also beautiful.
Not only green maple trees, there are some red one even in the summer, it is an accent of this garden.
Finally, it is Tenju-an Temple beside Nanzen-ji Temple.
It is a small temple, but the stylish staging is wonderful!

This is Kyoto colored in green... Giou-ji Temple

From this time, I will introduce summer Kyoto with the keyword "green".
This week, I introduce Giou-ji Temple which is the installation space with green representing summer Kyoto.
Green maple trees and soft and fluffy moss which grew all over the garden rule this space.
When the sunlight become weak a bit, you can experience a strange space like the whole of the precincts are wrapped in a dusky green veil.
This is Giou-ji Temple which is around 4 PM.
Personally, I think the time that this garden looks most beautiful is in the morning and this time zone.
"It looks like the world of Studio Ghibli!"... "It looks like Matcha!"... You will hear various impressions from neighbouring tourists.
It takes about 20 minutes on foot from the nearest station, but it's well worth visiting.
