事故が起きて丸一日が経過しました。新たな崩落が発生するリスクもある中、東京消防庁の応援も駆けつけ、懸命な救助活動が続いています。
また、先ほどからドローンが投入され、上空から陥没現場の内部などを確認する作業が始まっています。
警察などによりますと、28日午前、八潮市の県道にある交差点の中央部分で、直径およそ5メートル、深さ10メートルほどが陥没し、2トントラック1台が転落しました。
トラックには男性運転手が取り残されていて、29日未明の救助活動でトラックの荷台部分は引き上げられましたが、運転席の部分が引き上げられず、男性は今も救助できていません。
また、未明の作業の際、近くで、さらに大きな陥没が発生し、電柱などが、その陥没の中に落ちました。
陥没の原因は、下水管が破損し、地中の土砂を押し流したためとみられています。
現場に午後1時ごろからドローンが新たに投入され、上空から陥没現場の調査などが行われています。
埼玉県は今後、下水の量が増加し続けると、陥没の拡大や被害の長期化につながる恐れがあるとして、周辺の9つの市と3つの町に、洗濯や風呂の使用を控えるよう、協力を求めています。
