Outcomes

  • By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of Multilingual Learners in grades K-3 meeting or exceeding VALLSS screener benchmarks will increase from fall 2024 to spring 2025.
  • By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of all students in grades K-3 meeting or exceeding the VALLSS screener benchmarks will increase from fall 2024 to spring 2025.                           

Strategies

  • Increase efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have daily access to all components of the language arts block as outlined in the new core curriculum.
  • Increase use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress during intervention to ensure that students demonstrating risk master foundational skills.
  • Increase opportunities for English Language Development through use of embedded strategies during whole group instruction and intentional small group instruction focused on specific student needs.                          

Elementary School Math

Outcomes

  • By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of Multilingual Learners meeting or exceeding the iReady grade level benchmark will increase from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025.
  • By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of all students meeting or exceeding the iReady grade level benchmark will increase from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025.

Strategies:

  • Increase teacher's implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4: from show and tell to share and compare.
  • Increase formal collaboration between classroom teachers and ESOL teachers to develop the language of mathematics through the use of embedded strategies during whole group and small group instruction.
  • Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention."                            

Portrait of a Graduate

Outcomes

  • By June 2025, 100% of grades 1-5 students will participate in POG POL and scored using the POG POL rubric in RUBI.                            

Strategies

  • Select a POG skill from the vertical articulation charts (Resource 1) to focus on with students and explicitly teach the skill; if at an IB school, select an ATL skill from the IB & POG Crosswalk (Resource 2) to focus on with students and explicitly teach the skill.
  • Utilize POG Reflection Cards (Resource 1) and Sentence Strips for Reflection (Resource 2) to create opportunities for students to reflect on growth in POG skills;  if at an IB school, utilize ATL Reflection Cards and ATL Sentence Strips for Reflection (Resource 3).
  • Create opportunities for students to share their growth in a POG POL (Portrait of a Graduate Presentations of Learning - Resource 1) or, for IB schools, ATL POL (Approaches to Learning Presentation of Learning - Resource 2)."
