Advanced Academics

Fairfax County Public Schools offers a continuum of advanced academic services for students K-12 that builds upon students' individual strengths and skills and maximizes the academic potential for all learners.

Our school Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART), Ms. James, collaborates with the school staff to determine the appropriate level of advanced academic services. Parents may refer their child for advanced academic services and get additional information on the screening process or advanced academic opportunities at our school by contacting Ms. James. Ongoing observation and assessment ensures that student needs are being met.

Open Enrollment Courses in Middle School

The following link will provide you with information on how honors courses in subjects like English, Science, and Social Studies can help your child dive deeper into their favorite topics. These classes focus on new ways of learning and give students more independence to explore their interests. The document also shows different math pathways, detailing how students can move from 6th-grade math toward high school-level courses. Our goal is to find the best academic fit for every child while keeping future opportunities open.
