Sunrise Valley Celebrates Veterans Day with Heart and Gratitude

Sunrise Valley Elementary once again came together for their annual Veterans Day assembly. This year, interim Principal Maureen Boland welcomed everyone with a warm message that set the tone for the day. Our student speakers, Alma Haidar (5th Grade) along with Lincoln Dunn (3rd Grade) and Alex Spitzer (5th Grade), read thoughtful letters they had written to veterans, expressing gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

Sunrise Valley ES Receives Purple Star Designation for Third Time

Sunrise Valley Elementary School is proud to announce that it has been recognized as a Virginia Purple Star School for the third year in a row. This distinction honors schools that show a strong commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families.

On Tuesday, an unusual bird was seen flying around the playground. Ms. Buckley looked up and said, "That bird looks like a pet." Ms. Walker looked up and said, "That is definitely not a wild bird." Skye looked up and said, "That's Blueberry! My lost bird."
