On Monday, November 10, Twain welcomed Active and Retired Duty Military personnel from our community in honor of Veterans Day.  Twain’s Advanced Band played patriotic music as students entered the building in the morning, while our Military guests greeted them in the hallway.  At 7:30, our guests, along with some of Twain’s Military Connected Youth joined us in the Cafeteria where Twain’s Advanced Choir sang the National Anthem, members of the SCA led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Edison’s JROTC presented the colors.  Mr. Mough welcomed our students and guests and thanked them for their service.

After the ceremony, our students and guests walked down to the Library as students from various first period classes lined the hallway to applaud, cheer, and thank them for all they do.  In the Library, Twain offered refreshments and a chance for everyone to mingle and relax, while Orchestra students played music.

Twain is proud to be a 2nd Time Virginia Distinguished Purple Star School for Supporting Military Connected Students.  We thank everyone who serves in the military and their families for their service, commitment, and sacrifice.
