Math

Outcomes

  • On 2026 Grade 9-12 Math SOL Tests, the simple pass rate for all students will increase by 5% points compared to 2025.

Strategies

  • OTG: Identify and develop a monitoring protocol for teachers, teams, and/or departments that have a disproportionate number of F's, especially for courses that are barriers to on-time graduation.
  • INSTRUCTION: Provide opportunities to read and write in disciplinary-specific contexts.
  • MATH: Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.

Post-Secondary Readiness

Outcomes

  • By June 2026, the percent of seniors succeeding in an AP or DE class, and/or earning CTE finishing status will increase by at least 10% from 69% to 76%.

Strategies

  • STAFF CAPACITY: Increase the collective responsibility of ALL staff in supporting school-wide On-Time Graduation and Academic and Career Planning efforts to include 3E (i.e. PD around mindset, cultivating belonging, positive interactions with students)
  • INSTRUCTIONAL: Support students’ executive functioning skills (e.g. model notetaking, study skills, time management skills)
  • TESTING: Work with students to understand the benefits of taking an AP/IB exam.

Science

Outcomes

  • On the 2026 Science SOL Tests, all student groups will increase simple pass rates by 3.5 points (5%) 5 percentage points compared to 2025.
  • Targeted student groups will improve as follows: SWD will increase by 3.5 points (10%); MLs will increase by 4.5 points (10%); Black/African-American students increase by 4.9 points (10 percentage).

Strategies

  • Increase opportunities for students to develop and apply disciplinary literacy skills of reading, writing, discussing, and thinking in science.
  • Increase opportunities for students to apply and demonstrate understanding of vocabulary through evidence-based arguments and reasoning, such as the Claim-Evidence-Reasoning approach.
  • Utilize a balanced assessment approach, including a variety of formative and summative assessments, to evaluate student progress and inform instruction throughout lessons and units.

ML Progress

Outcomes

  • On the 25-26 WIDA Assessment, ML progress will increase by 5% progress (2.3 points) from 46% to 48.3% compared to 2025.

Strategies

  • (Secondary) Increase collaboration and co-planning time between co-teaching pairs to plan instruction and assessment, provide accommodations, develop learning goals, and increase opportunities for small group instruction.
  • Increase the use of language-focused strategies, scaffolds, and supports in content and classroom instruction that match the students’ English language proficiency and promote oral language development and peer to peer interactions.

Chronic Absenteeism

Outcomes

  • By June 2025, the chronic absenteeism rate will decline from 17.9% to 14%.

Strategies

  • Communicate with families to recognize and celebrate student growth or success in academics, behavior, attendance, or other areas using a variety of communication methods (e.g., phone calls, emails, Talking Points, postcards) to strengthen student and family engagement.
  • MTSS Schoolwide and Site Intervention teams analyze attendance, behavior, and wellness data twice a month to evaluate implementation of Tier 1 SEL/wellness initiatives and identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Integrate consistent analysis of data disaggregated by student groups (race/ethnicity, SWD, ML, FRM).
