Kindergarten and New Student Registration

Welcome to White Oaks Elementary School!

We're excited to welcome our newest Eagles!

We are a school in Fairfax County, Virginia.

School registration must be completed online.  Follow the steps below to help you with this process: 

Step 1:  Determine Eligibility

1. Children must be living with a parent and residing in Fairfax County, VA.
2. Children must be age 5 or older by September 30th to enroll in Kindergarten.
3. View FCPS boundary locator to determine which FCPS school you are zoned for.

Step 2: Prepare documents needed for registration

All documents must be scanned and uploaded into the online portal when registering or a hard copy may be presented during the in-person appointment.

Required documents :

1. Proof of Residency

   If students are experiencing a loss of housing or are in temporary housing due to hardship, parents or legal guardians may contact the Homeless Liaison Office at 571-423-4332 or refer to Information for Homeless Families

2. Proof of Student Age
3. Proof of Parent Identity
4. Document of Previous Educational Program ( if applicable)
5. Health Documentation

Step 3: Create SIS ParentVUE Account

It is recommended to use a laptop and Google Chrome. 

Families New to FCPS

• Open the OLR Parent Registration page.
• Answer the four questions and click Continue.
• Review the Parent Account Privacy Policy. Click I Agreeto continue.
• Enter your first name, last name, email address, re-enter email address, and click Submit.
• A ‘Verify Email’ message, with a link to confirm your request, will be sent to the email address provided.
• For security reasons, the link will expire quickly. Complete the account creation process immediately.
• Navigate to your email and find the ‘Verify Email’ message from FCPS.
  • Click on the link to confirm your email and create your password. This window will contain your username (make a note of it) and instructions to create your password.
  • Once you confirm your password, click Submit.
• You will receive a second email message indicating your ParentVUE account is now created. This email will contain the link to the SIS ParentVUE login page.

Families Returning to FCPS

• Before completing the online registration packet,you will need to determine if you can access your prior SIS ParentVUE account or if you will need to activate a new SIS ParentVUE account.
• If you had a SIS ParentVUE account and are returning within the yearof leaving FCPS
  • You will be able to access your account by using the username and password you had when previously in FCPS at the SIS ParentVUE login page.

• If you do not remember this information, submit a  Parent Support Request for assistance. Select Online Registrationin the Application dropdown menu.

  Attention : If you had initiated contact with FCPS for evaluations, Special Education services, or started a registration (paper) at one of our schools or centers, a SIS ParentVUE record already exists. Please do not create a SIS ParentVUE account. Use the Parent Support Request form above to obtain an activation key.

• If you had a SIS ParentVUE account and are returning after over a yearof leaving FCPS, or did not havea SIS ParentVUE account while in FCPS.You will need an activation key to activate your account. Call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS) and indicate you need an activation key to use Online Registration.
  • Please be ready to provide the following information:
    • Parent first and last name
    • Last school student attended in FCPS
    • Parent email address used in FCPS
    • Last home address in FCPS
    • Student’s birthdate
  • You will receive follow-up information via email.

Step 4:  Wait for Confirmation & In-Person Appointment

The online registration packet will be submitted to the school for review. The registrar at White Oaks ES, Ms. Carrasco, will contact you to schedule an in-personappointment and finalize your child's registration.

When you come to the In-Person Appointment, you must bring:

• Parent Identification (Photo ID)
• Student identification (original Birth Certificate or affidavit with substantiating documentation)
• Other Required documents if not uploaded (e.g., Proof of residency, Health, Medical forms, last elementary report card if applicable)
• Documentation of previous educational programs and/or services (IEP, 504, etc).
