Award Winning Staff

The Whitman Attendance Team was awarded a 2025 FCPS Impact Award for Innovation and Improvement for their work reducing chronic absenteeism from 24% to 12%. Through daily outreach, individualized attendance plans, and strong partnerships with families, they address barriers that keep students from school. They exceed expectations by offering academic support and coordinating transportation. The team creates fun, motivational incentives like attendance dances, inflatable races, and donut and ice cream socials.
