On Wednesday, April 15, the Madison Pyramid came together for a Day of Service. By centering their efforts on community needs, they made sure their theme “Our Shared Home” reflected Madison’s shared values in action. The day extended learning beyond the classroom, helping students grow as ethical and globally minded citizens. Through hands-on service, students saw firsthand how intentional, compassionate action can strengthen a community. Across the pyramid’s nine schools, approximately 6,525 students contributed an estimated 391,500 hours of service through 80 projects – that’s equivalent to 44 years of community service! Staff and families played an important role too, contributing through direct participation and donations of needed supplies.

Our annual Day of Service proved that you are never too young to make a big difference in your community!

How Our Grades Helped

Each grade level took on a different mission to help our neighbors, our environment, and our local heroes. Here is a look at the amazing work our students accomplished:

Student Ambassadors creating posters with a PAC student
  • Preschool: Our youngest learners made 10 “Thank you for your Service” signs for Month of the Military child with our Student Ambassadors, which are posted around our school.

  • Kindergarten: 64 intrepid Kinders headed out for Park Beautification after their field trip. They worked hard cleaning up local park spaces so that everyone in the community has a clean place to play.

  • 1st Grade: 52 first graders focused on our own backyard! They performed a Campus Clean-up, picking up litter to keep our school grounds sparkling and safe.

Why We Serve

At Wolftrap, we believe that being a Wolfie means nurturing our community through being a leader and a kind neighbor. By taking a break from our normal schedule to serve, we learned that small acts of kindness add up to a massive wave of change.

Whether it was the second graders using their creativity to brighten someone's wall or the fourth graders carefully packing soap and toothbrushes, every student showed incredible empathy and teamwork.

A Big Thank You!

We are so proud of our students for their hard work and big hearts. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our wish lists and provided materials for our projects!

Way to go, Wolfies! You made April 15 a day to remember!
