Summer 2026 Position

Description: Implements a Young Scholars summer program for students in grades K-6; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; provides differentiation and accommodations for students of varied skill levels; collaborates with other summer program teachers to plan and facilitate Project-based Learning and student reflection through Portrait of Graduate Presentations of Learning; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy; attends mandatory in-person and/or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.

Qualifications: Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Endorsement in elementary education and experience in teaching elementary school curriculum, preferred. Experience providing differentiated and individualized student support, preferred. Ability to develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
