The GCU Library adheres to the GCU Code of Conduct and Academic Standards as well as the Intellectual Property Rights policy located in the GCU University Policy Handbook and the GCU Employee Handbook.
Filming or photography on the 3rd and 4th Library floors of the Student Union by GCU students for class assignments requires advanced notice and permission by Library Staff. Please inquire at the Information Desks on either Library floor.
Wireless printing is available in the Library which allows printing from personal devices and from the Library's computers. There is a charge of five cents per page for black & white printing and ten cents per page for color printing. Payment can be made online through the MyPrint website. Appropriate use of the Library's printers include small print jobs for individual, personal use that support scholarly research. Large print jobs including printing of ebooks, printing for commercial purposes or printing of any material that the Library staff determine is in violation of copyright and licensing, or other law-related or administrative concerns is not permitted. The Library retains the right to refuse to allow the printing or photocopying of materials on the basis of Section 107 ( Fair Use ) of the U.S. Copyright Act. The Library has 18 group study rooms available on the Library floors. Students, faculty, and staff are able to reserve a group study room in 30 minute increments, for up to 4 hours per day. Reservations can only be made with @my.gcu.edu, @gcu.edu, or @gce.com email addresses. Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance. The reservation will be canceled if the room is not occupied within 15 minutes of the appointment start time.
Depending on the size of room, study rooms can be used by groups of 2-5 people. Only the person that requested the room can obtain initial access to the room. As a courtesy to other students, faculty, and staff with reservations, please stay only the duration of your reservation. Rooms abandoned during reservations will be canceled and the room will be made available. The Library is not responsible for the security of personal items. Any personal items left behind in a room will be placed in the Library's lost & found or given to Public Safety.
The Library has a variety of equipment available, including anatomical models, Wi-Fi hotspot devices, dry-erase marker kits, computer cables and chargers, board games, calculators, mini dry-erase board kits, and computer peripherals.
All Library equipment is available for use by GCU students, faculty, and staff. Reservations can only be made with @my.gcu.edu, @gcu.edu, or @gce.com email addresses. Reservations can be made up to 2 weeks in advance. Reservation lengths vary based on the type of item. Equipment reservations will be canceled if item is not picked up within 15 minutes of reservation start time, with the exception of Wi-Fi hotspot devices, which will be canceled if the device is not picked up within 24 hours of reservation start time.
Only the person that requested the item can pick it up. Library equipment can also be requested on a walk-in basis, if the item isn't in use, or have a pending reservation. Priority will be given to prescheduled reservations.
All Library equipment must be returned to the Library, or a renewal requested, by the end of the reservation. Ability to renew an item is dependent on availability and is not guaranteed. Failure to return an item will be subject to replacement fees and suspension of Library borrowing privileges. Replacement fees remain on the borrower’s Library account until the item is returned or fees are paid.
