Request a Gemini Code Assist license

You must have a valid license in order to use Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise . Licenses are assigned to specific people (not Google Cloud projects), so after you are assigned a license you can use Gemini Code Assist in any Google Cloud project that's managed by your organization.

If all licenses in the subscription have been assigned, users not yet assigned a license are shown an error message stating that they need a license to access Gemini Code Assist from their account.

You can purchase license subscriptions one at a time month-to-month or as part of a larger multi-license annual purchase. Contact your billing administrator to assign you a new license or renew an existing license .

Alternatively, you can ask your administrator to enable access to Gemini Code Assist for individuals for your organization, which includes core features like code completion and AI-powered chat.
