Manage host controls

All Google Workspace editions have Host management. When it’s turned on, meeting hosts can use settings to keep control of their meeting. Only hosts can access these controls:

• Add or remove people
• Manage chat moderation in a video meeting
• Lock audio
• Assign View only roles
• Lock video
• Add co-hosts
• Ask participants questions

Turn Host management on or off

On Google Meet:

1. On your computer, go to Google Meet .
2. Join a meeting.
3. At the bottom right, click Host controls.
4. In the side panel, turn Host managementon or off.

On Google Calendar:

1. On your computer, go to Google Calendar .
2. To create a new Calendar event, at the top left, click Create EventAdd Google Meet video conferencing.
3. Click Video call options.
4. On the left, select Host controls.
5. In the side panel, turn Host managementon or off.
   • It’s off by default.
6. Click Save.
