To reduce complexity and provide better support, we occasionally retire dimensions, metrics, and report types. Details about what's changing, and what to use as a replacement, are listed in the table below.
Watch the "Coming soon" section of our biweekly release notes for regular communications about any scheduled deprecation or deletion. Relevant items will also be labeled "deprecated" or "discontinued" in the product interface, but not officially removed until the date announced in the release notes.
-
Deprecated: This dimension or metric will be removed from the Ad Manager UI in the future. You're encouraged to use alternative dimensions or metrics instead.
-
Discontinued: This dimension or metric can no longer be used in reports and will be removed from the Ad Manager UI soon.
Upcoming retirements
Deprecation of Privacy Sandbox API dimensions
In April, 2025, Chrome announced plans to maintain our current approach of offering users third-party cookie choices.
We have since retired most Privacy Sandbox technology, including the Protected Audience and Topics APIs.
We'll remove the following deprecated dimensions from Ad Manager reporting:
- "Protected Audience seller (non-Google)"
- "Protected Audience API delivery"
- "Topics status"
Deprecation of "Video line item" filterDue to the migration to QTI, we’ll remove an implicit video line item filter for dimensions related to video position and pod position. The impact for existing reports may be a higher number of "Unknown" values, especially when the recorded event is associated with a display event.
Publishers can filter specifically for video line items using 'Line Item Environment Type = Video Player'.
Deprecation of the "Creative size" dimensionInstead, use the "Rendered Creative Size" dimension.
Deprecation of the "Devices" dimensionThe "Devices" dimension will be deprecated in 2026. Instead, use the "Device model" and "Device manufacturer" dimensions, which provide richer device information. In addition, "Device category" and "Operating System Category" dimensions provide higher-level device groupings.
The Video creative quality report is deprecated and will be removed as part of the upcoming "Reports" deprecation in 2026.

The Analytics
